Wish List Wednesday

All day today the baby must be moving down or something because it seriously hurts to walk at times, which is a pain when you're walking around a school getting students to come to therapy. There is a crazy pressure on and between my hips, and it's not fun at all. Pick a different position boy. By the way, Landon has taken to calling the baby "the boy." Don't worry, he's just joking around, but with the things we sometimes talk about doing when he's older, I sure feel sorry for him. He'll grow up thinking his parents are crazy people... Anyway, now to the finds:

I'm not having twins, but think it would be awesome if we did. Here are cute matching outfits for twins that I found here.

Play food is usually made of plastic, but here is some I found made from wood. Very cute.

We're also not having a girl, but if we were I would definitely buy her these adorable shoes from a Etsy shop called JaylieBeans.

There's only more pain to come.

Yesterday, Landon and I took a trip to the State Fair. We were only there about 3 hours and I was exhausted. My legs hurt so bad and my hips were killing me. Landon was caring (ha) and made sure to comment on how I waddled back to the car.

Today was another doctors appointment. I'm measuring right on track and the baby's heartbeat is strong. I also lost 4 pounds from the last doctor visit- so weird. The doctor hasn't mentioned anything about that though. I also got to get a fun flu shot. The doctor said we would then have to stop over at the hospital to get a Rhogam shot, which I should've had at 28 weeks, oh well. By the way, the Rhogam shot is because I have O negative blood and the baby may have positive blood. Rh sensitization is more concerning with kids after your first, but they still do Rhogam shots. When a mother has Rh negative blood, the blood might start fighting the baby's blood if the baby is Rh positive. That's a simple explanation.

We walked over to the hospital and sat at admissions for a while. At least now I'm in the computer so I don't have to go through that while in labor. Then they sent me back to the lab to have blood drawn. They have to test it for something before the shot. The lab was busy with emergency stuff so we went home for a couple hours before getting a shot. By this time it was 5:00pm (Our doctor's appointment was 4:30). We get a call to go back for the shot at 8:00pm. They took us to labor and delivery where a nurse checked my vitals and prepared the shot. At first it had a huge needle, which I didn't see, but Landon said, "you could fit pills through it". She got a smaller needle and shot me in the back of my hip. Ouch! That was the most painful shot I've had in a long time. I'm not afraid of needles at all, but yikes! It hurt the entire time she pushed the medicine in and after. Then we had to wait there for 30 minutes to monitor for an allergic reaction. Nothing happened, so we were free to go. What a night.

Week 33

Week 32 baby bump

Month 8 fruit: Honeydew melon
Baby’s senses are continuing to improve -- when light peeks in through your (extremely) stretched belly, those tiny eyelids and irises blink and dilate. And, baby can now recognize and react to simple songs… time to start practicing your lullabies! Growth (at least inside your womb) is starting to slow, and you may notice baby descend into your pelvis at the end of this month.

This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

Random 10 Friday

I'm so glad this was a short week with Labor day on Monday. I'm so tired. Today is also September 11th. Here's what I remember about doing during the attacks:

I was a senior in high school at the time. The state fair was beginning and all the kids in band were on there way there to play. I wasn't in band so we just went to regular classes. My first class of the day was normal, then I went to my second class- senior English. A few students who had just gotten out of current events class mentioned something about a plane crash, but no more was mentioned. At that time people still thought it was an accident. Then my next class was American Government. The teacher was watching the events on TV. We watched as the first tower was reported as fallen. Then we watched the second tower fall. The teacher was freaking out. Then next couple of classes all we did was watch what was happening on TV. I remember being worried that it was the start of WWIII- which was scary. At one point we watched reports of people celebrating the attacks and we were all appalled. When school was over, I went home and my family made sure to watch the continuing coverage and then the news on BBC to see what the world's reaction was. It was quite the day, and even 8 years later I remember it in great detail. It was my generation's Pearl Harbor.

Wish List Wednesday

I'm going to start something new for a blog every Wednesday. Lately, when I'm bored or whatever I peruse the internet for baby items and add them to wish lists (like Amazon, etc.) These Wednesday posts will feature finds that I want to point out as interesting, cool, or just plain awesome! :) So, here goes post #1.

Here is a cute onesie that I plan to buy for Remington. It's from Etsy and you can find the seller here. They have sizes ranging from 0-24 months.

Here are cute booties for Christmas. I found it on Amazon here.
There is also a matching onesie. I like the pirate set from the same store too.

Week 32

Week 31 baby bump.

Your baby sleeps approximately 90 to 95 percent of the day now. His skin has become thicker and he continues to become more of a pinkish color. Your baby's movements will peak this week. From now on they will change in quantity and quality. Most of the wrinkles are disappearing from your baby's face, and there may be a lot of hair on his head. The weight gain has been fairly incredible recently. Your baby is now almost 4 pounds and is 17 inches long.

Total weight gain/loss: 18 pounds.

Sleep: Ugh, I need more of it.
Best moment this week: I don't know, this week's been miserable with acid reflux (which I never had before being pregnant)

Food cravings: Mexican food and popcicles- not together though, ew.

Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out? In, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to take out my belly button ring soon, even though it's a pregnancy one.
What I miss: Being able to bend, sit straight, shave my legs without feeling like I was in danger of falling over, not having acid reflux, and not taking a million pills.
What I am looking forward to: When the crib arrives and when I can finally hold him. Come soon, but only sometime in October- wait at least one more month.
Weekly Wisdom: Enjoy the more comfortable 2nd trimester, it'll be gone before you know it, and then things become unfun.
